Lennon inch closer to D’Cup quarter-finals
SANTA CRUZ, St Elizabeth — Lennon High have all but secured their place in the quarter-final round of the ISSA/Pepsi/Digicel daCosta Cup competition following a 5-1 thrashing of Munro College in Inter-zone action at the St Elizabeth Technical Sports Complex yesterday.
Odaine Brown led the way with a brace for the Merron Gordon-coached team, while national Under-20 representative Ewan Grandison and Justin Johnson added to the tally, with the other being an own-goal.
The victory was the second in-a-row for Lennon after they blanked Mannings School 3-0 in the opening Group Three game on Wednesday.
They remain atop the group on six points and only need a draw in their next game to confirm their place in the quarters.
Munro, Mannings and Manchester are yet to get off the mark, but all have games in hand.
