UWI, Utech win in Intercol basketball
AS the local Intercollegiate Basketball League continued, UWI Pelicans blanked MBCC 5-0 in both male and female matches on Sunday, and on Monday, the UTech Knights blanked NCU 5-0 in both male and female divisions.
After these results, with about a quarter of the matches played so far in the return leg of league, the UTech Knights lead the standings in both male and female categories.
In the male category, they are on 23 points, followed by UWI with 14 points, GC Foster five, NCU three and MBCC yet to score.
In the female section, UTech are on top with 24 points, ahead of UWI Pelicans 16, GC Foster three, NCU two and MBCC yet to score.
In both male and female categories, the top two finishers will contest the final on a date to be announced in early December.
The league continues today at 6:00 pm with GC Foster hosting UTech in both male and female matches.
