We couldn’t help snapping Allison McLean as she shopped at Xtras — her timeless ponytail and elegant natural make-up were the perfect complement to her casual outfit. She now resides in the Cayman Islands, but whenever she visits The Rock, her hairstylist Marva at Mzuri Beauty Salon ‘hooks her up’ which a sleek blowout.

We especially loved her look because it can work for just about any occasion.

Of-the-moment Topknot

Educator Dr Renée Rattray swept her graceful locks into an of-the-moment topknot for President Clinton’s ‘Embracing Our Common Humanity’ address at the Pegasus a few weeks ago. We love how she added some pizzazz to her look by keeping her face bare, allowing her radiant skin and dark lipstick to shine through. Her ‘less is more approach’ ensures that her stylish wrap dress and natural beauty are the highlights of her ensemble.

Glamorous Chignon

Patricia Peart, General Manager of Jamaica Chamber of Commerce, sported a glamorous and rather flattering chignon for her organisation’s annual charity ball. The elegant ‘do, created by her hairstylist Sharon Alexander of JAZZ beauty salon is not only perfect for formal occasions, but can also be used to dress up a simple outfit for a more informal event. We love her look because it is sophisticated and can be customised to suit just about everyone.

DIY Updo

What started out as a possible bad hair day for MegaMart import merchandiser Nicole Brandon turned into something gorgeous and girly.

She could not decide on a suitable hairstyle for the JCC annual ball, so she simply separated a section towards the front of her hair, pulled it into a ponytail at the crown and tucked it in, using hairpins to secure it. The result?

A sophisticated, yet slightly messy look that flatters her features as well as her outfit.
