Michael Douglas gets his sparkle back on family holiday to Disney World

Michael Douglas gets his sparkle back on family holiday to Disney World

It’s been a difficult year for Michael Douglas and his family, but they put their worries aside on Wednesday for a holiday at Disney World, Florida. And in an encouraging sign, the 66-year-old looked healthier than he has in months. The actor was beaming from ear-to-ear as he posed alongside Mickey and Minnie Mouse with his wife Catherine Zeta Jones and their children Dylan, 10 and Carys, seven.

The Wall Street: Never Sleeps star and Welsh-born actress Catherine, also recently celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary on November 18. The family’s outing comes just days after his father Kirk Douglas said his son was regaining his appetite and was starting to feel ‘feisty’ again. Michael, who was diagnosed with stage-four throat cancer, has been candid about his battle.

“It really knocks you out,” he has admitted. “You just never think it is going to be you. But I’ll beat this. The tumour is shrinking. The odds are good… I’m not dealing with mortality issues until I hear otherwise. The doctors’ prognosis is for a full recovery, and with this type of cancer there is a 70 to 80 per cent chance that it will happen. It doesn’t seem to have spread to anywhere else in my body, so however difficult the next few months of treatment will be, I’m ready for it and will take things day by day.”

He has launched a fund raising campaign to help aid cancer research and he urges people to have regular checks. “Cancer doesn’t care how many Oscars you’ve won or how many tough guys you’ve played,” he opined.

Are David Beckham’s metrosexual days over? Football star spotted looking scraggly

With his unkempt hair and scruffy beard, the usually well-polished David Beckham is seemingly no longer the billboard poster for metrosexuality that he once was. Sporting an unkempt look, the former England skipper appeared more caveman than the 21st Century gent famed for his dalliances with waxing and sarongs. The father of three arrived in Sydney on Thursday ahead of his LA Galaxy team’s friendly against the Newcastle Jets. The gruff-looking footballer was looking less than sharp in a navy blue branded tracksuit top, which he teamed with clashing black trousers and rugged boots. He was also looking a little jet-lagged, no thanks to the 19-hour time difference between LA and Australia.

On his arrival, Beckham talked shop, telling reporters that he strongly believed both Australia and the United States are more than capable of staging a successful World Cup in 2022.

Sandra Bullock’s ex Jesse James makes a lucky escape after crash at Mexico truck race

Sandra Bullock’s ex husband Jesse James made a lucky escape after he over turned his truck during a race in Baja, Mexico. The 41-year-old West Coast Choppers owner crashed the off-road vehicle during the 1,061-mile-long 43rd Tecate SCORE Baja 1,000. Jesse’s ‘Trophy’ truck ended up on its side beside the desert road. Luckily, neither Jesse nor his navigator was seriously injured in the accident, which happened only 160 miles in to the race near the town of San Felipe. The pair were able to right the truck and make repairs before rejoining the race at the 520-mile mark. The annual SCORE Baja 1,000 usually brings out over 250,000 spectators and almost 300 competitors for the cross- desert on-and-off road race. This year only 201 entrants actually finished the race due to breakdowns and accidents on the rocky and dusty course. Since divorcing Bullock, Jesse has been dating reality star and tattoo artist Kat Von D.
