Port Antonio Primary top CASE sports rallies
PORT Antonio Primary topped the College of Agriculture, Science and Education (CASE) primary school netball and football rallies last Friday when they defeated defending champions Ken Wright, 10-4, to capture the netball and Norwich Primary 1-0 to defend their football title.
In the all-age section Hope Bay defeated defending champions Drapers 1-0 for the football title. There was no all-age netball game.
The rally is organised on an annual basis by the Advanced Physical Education students at CASE and also functions as the institution’s outreach programme to primary schools in the area.
Committee chairman Javian Patterson said: “We have gained valuable experience learning and implementing a competition so that when we get into the schools and world of work, we can use this experience in the real world of work. This was a successful day and the students enjoyed it.”
According to Yanique Betty, “We gained experience in planning and implementation and officiating in these games. This experience is very valuable.”
Coach of Port Antonio Primary, Kirk Patrick-Osbourne, said: “We look forward to this every year as it exposes our children and they build relationships. We’re happy that we again won the football, and the netball for the first time. I hope this will continue as it is good for our children and the institution.”
