Digicel’s loaded Christmas visits Linstead

After stops in Portmore, Port Antonio, Half-Way-Tree and Annotto Bay, the Digicel Loaded Christmas Road Show made its way to Linstead, St Catherine this past weekend.

Digicel’s Loaded Christmas Road Show is an extension of the mobile giants Christmas promotions and is geared at connecting with people from different communities across Jamaica. The road shows provide Digicel customers with a chance to win prizes and get free goodies along with information on products and services through the customer care team which is also on the ground at each road show.

Loaded with prizes and surprises the Digicel team made its way to Linstead but also made stops, at Texaco in the Spanish Town centre, for a mini show which brought traffic and business activities to a standstill. Then it was on to Brunswick to spread the joy with another set of Digicel customers. The road show was also well accepted in Bog Walk and when artistes like Shawn Storm, I-Octane and Chozenn were introduced it created quite a stir in the usually quiet town. The Digicel crew made a quick stop in Ewarton for promotional reasons and then it was on to Linstead for the big moment. The ever-energetic Fluffy diva Miss Kitty was MC for the day and she continued the excitement that she created on previous stops no sooner than the crew was settled in Linstead town.

Miss Kitty’s voice was now echoing across Linstead and in the space of mere minutes hundreds were gathered around the Digicel procession. The Fluffy Diva got the show on the way with Digicel credit giveaways but the stage was then bombarded by the Digicel dancers to the delight of the crowd and Linstead resident dancer Kino who joined in on the fun. Miss Kitty was soon having her way with the residents of Linstead and they did not mind, because they were also having their way receiving phone cards, T-shirts and Digicel phones. Just when the huge crowd thought it could not get any better, Miss Kitty introduced Rising Star finalist Jermaine Michaels who gave a stellar performance. Up next were the Timeless dancers, who had the crowd moving to their every move. Timeless then called a group of kids to the stage, of which nine-year-old Aaliyah Mckoy was the standout and also proved to be a handful for the Timeless duo. Chozenn was next and he did not disappoint with his repertoire of songs.

The performances of the day came from Shawn Storm who was celebrating his birthday and I-Octane. Shawn was the penultimate performer of the day and he had the crowd in a rage. Starting with songs like Ghetto youth be wise and Vybz party, the man from the Portmore Empire quickly got in his groove and the crowd was loving his performance. Shawn Storm’s was, however, interrupted by the Digicel crew who surprised him two huge cakes and gave him a wonderful serenading on stage. A now elated Shawn Storm then finished his set with Party everyday and crowd favourite My Life. I-Octane’s entrance created quite a stir and he got the crowd going with No love inna dem and My life. Octane was soon reeling hit song after hit song to the crowds liking. Upcoming artiste Zah Munda was introduced by I-Octane and the two took their time in wrapping up the Digicel Loaded Christmas Road Show.
