Lottery scam
Dear Editor,
I should like to notify the Jamaican authorities of the following.
My father is 92 years old and living in the United States. He often gets letters and phone calls relating to a lottery scam. People write or call him to tell him he has won tens of thousands of dollars, but he has to pay a fee to collect his winnings. He sometimes mails a cheque to them but never gets any money.
Recently, a man called with another scam and left a message and a telephone number. Foreign lotteries are illegal in the US and this phone call must have been fraudulent.
