New Date for Betty Wright’s No Pain No Gain
THE organisers of the re-scheduled concert featuring ‘soul sista’ Betty Wright, are encouraging patrons to mark the date and get ready to go on a musical high on December 11, as the show which also features local acts, Tarus Riley, Tessanne Chin, Freddie McGregor, and Hezron, is set for the Liguanea Club, New Kingston.
No Pain No Gain, which was scheduled for November 6, was postponed due to the passing of Tropical Storm Tomas.
Tazhna Williams, Chief Executive Officer of Stiletto Concepts, the promoters of the concert, said that tickets already sold, will be valid for the December 11 staging of the concert.
“We are requesting patrons to retain the tickets they had purchased, as they will be honoured.”
“We further thank our supporters for their patience and understanding, and also the artistes for coming together on such short notice,” Williams said.
“We promise an unforgettable evening,” she added.
Grammy Award-winning singer Betty Wright, who has internationally acclaimed hits such as Clean up Woman, After the Pain and No Pain No Gain, has, for years, captured audiences worldwide, with younger talent sampling from
her masterpieces.
Williams notes that “beautiful moments will be spun from this legendary singer, when she hits the stage and takes the audience back on a nostalgic musical journey.”
This musical tapestry is also an effort to reach out to the less privileged people in Jamaica; part proceeds will go to the global charity organisation, International Proxy Parents (IPP), to assist in their programmes and initiatives to elevate the lives of less fortunate in the island.
