Kick It Christmas Camp underway at Mona
THE most fundamental skill in the sport of football is the individual mastery of the ball and the creativity that comes with it.
It is with this understanding that Jamaica GrassRoots Football Company proudly presents Kick It Christmas 2010 Football Camp underway at the NWC football fields, Mona.
The camp, which started on Tuesday, will end on Saturday.
The Christmas edition of the Kick-It Camp series will cater to boys ages 5-16 years old. It will provide five days of systematic functional training; focusing primarily on the technical aspects of the game — dribbling, passing and receiving, ball possession, finishing and goalkeeping.
Ultimately, Kick It Christmas 2010 will set up situations that will allow players to develop the requisite skills in an environment conducive to learning and having fun with the ball.
Each participant will receive a camp ball, t-shirt, daily lunch, and a certificate of participation.
Among the camp instructors are former national representative Wolde Harris (director) and current Reggae Boy Khari Stephenson.
Also contributing as coaches and motivational speakers are Allan ‘Skill’ Cole, Russell ‘Dos’ Bell, Ossie Kerr, Trevor ‘Jumpy’ Harris, and current Boyz captain, Shavar Thomas.
In addition, Jamaica GrassRoots Football is pleased to announce its partnership with the Jamaica Chess Foundation. “We will incorporate the game of chess into our football camp, in an effort to train the brain and develop better decision makers in our sport,” said CEO Wolde Harris.
