Brandy couldn’t wait to show off her new tattoo, but the singer probably should have got her facts straight before taking to Twitter. The Boy Is Mine singer had a picture of Ganesh, the Hindu deity, inked on the inside of her left wrist. However the 31-year-old apparently got her wires crossed and described it as an “Egyptian god” when responding to questions from a fan. Brandy initially posted photos of her posed up alongside tattoo artist, Peter Koskela, who specialises in custom work. Another frame shows the figure close up and she also showed herself having the tattoo inked on her skin. After seeing the pictures, one of her Twitter followers asked: “Is that Ganesh?”

“Yes it is!” she wrote in response. “Egyptian god! Remover of all obstacles:)”

She was quickly informed by another reader that Ganesh is actually a Hindu deity, not Egyptian. Brandy has had a busy year in 2010, filming two seasons of her own reality show entitled Brandy And Ray J: A Family Business alongside her brother, an R&B singer who is most famous for being the man in Kim Kardashian’s sex tape. She competed on the 11th season of Dancing With The Stars, placing fourth in the competition overall. The singer also recorded her sixth studio album in collaboration with super-producer Timberland which is due for release early next year.

Out-takes from the ad show her in a series of stylish outfits that put her body on display in all its glory. In the accompanying television campaign, the former American Idol star performs the jazz track, Feeling Good, and uses the lyric ‘It’s a new day’ as its catch line.

As it was, she almost outshone the bride in her lacy white dress as chief bridesmaid to old friend Emma Cooper in Australia, Thursday last. The actress, 42, looked very pretty in her knee-length summer dress as she played her role as maid of honour perfectly after keeping her promise to her long-time friend. And she was just one of many stars who attended the wedding at the Shore Chapel in Sydney, as well as Naomi’s husband, Scream trilogy star Liev Schreiber. Schreiber, 43, gave the third reading at the ceremony and read Henry Lawson’s After All. The Mentalist star Simon Baker was there with his wife Rebecca Rigg as well as Without A Trace star Anthony La Paglia and his wife Gia Carides and Australian film director Gregor Jordan.
