JCDC 2011 competitions extended to this weekend
ENTRIES for the 2011 National Children’s Gospel Song Competition and the Festival of the Performing Arts Competitions which includes; Music, Dance, Speech, Drama and Traditional Folk Forms, has been extended to Friday, February 11, 2011.
The National Children’s Gospel Song Competition hones the dynamic talent of children between the ages six to 15 to express themselves utilising any genre of music to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The competition accepts both covers and original entries, where the top three most talented performers are awarded trophies and prizes in each category.
The Performing Arts Competitions begins with Zone Eliminations across the Island with pieces being selected for the Parish Finals. Entrants at this level receive gold, silver, bronze or a certificate of merit. Performers who achieve the highest-scoring gold medal in each Class and Category per parish are approved to advance to the National Finals, which culminates in Kingston.
Individuals, schools, churches, youth and community groups wishing to enter the National Children’s Gospel Song Competition as well as the Performing Arts Competitions must do so by the newly extended deadline.
