Gimme-Me-Bit hunt five straight in Clarendon Major League
YORK TOWN, Clarendon — Leaders Gimme-Me-Bit go in search of their fifth consecutive win in the Claro/Captain’s Bakery Major League when they meet Free Town in the curtain-raiser of a double-header at York Town today.
In the feature game at 3:00 pm, York Town host Original Hazard, while in another encounter, second-placed Spartan Athletic tackle last-placed Gayle at Clarendon College.
Gimme-Me-Bit have so far been impressive as they are yet to drop a point after four starts, scoring a league-high 11 goals, while conceding a league-low three to lead the pack on 12 points.
They will be going up against an unpredictable Free Town contingent, who are eight points adrift, but should have enough ammunition to stretch their winning streak to five games.
Free Town, promoted to the Major League as last season’s Division One runners-up, have only managed one victory, one draw and two losses so far, and will need to come good to avoid a third.
