Clarks Town, Kinloss hunt win in Trelawny
HYDE, Trelawny — Last season’s beaten finalists Clarks Town will take on Kinloss at the Hyde playfield this afternoon as both teams make their first appearance in the Trelawny Football Association’s National Rums of Jamaica Major League.
The league kicked off on Saturday with Granville beating Invaders 2-0, while the other two games ended in tied scores.
Granville, who just barely avoided relegation last season, got both goals late in the game with goals from Leighton Clarke in the 70th minute and a defender’s goal in the 85th minute to take the early lead in the standings.
Promoted Classic gave up an early lead and were held to a 1-1 draw by Spicy Hill.
Tamaro Williams scored in the 10th minute to give Classic the lead, but Damin Williams equalised in the 63rd for Spicy Hill, while the other promoted team Preston and Jackson Town played out a 0-0 draw.
Tomorrow, Spicy Hill and Flames will meet at Georgia, while Duanvale and Palmento will face off at Duanvale.
Both games start at 3:00 pm.
