Majesty Legends, St George’s Slayers score wins
AS the preliminary rounds of the four conferences of the Flow/National Basketball League draw to a close this week, Majesty Legends and St George’s Slayers bested Southern Conference rivals Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) and Swift Sons over the weekend at the National Stadium Courts.
Havando Dunn scored 15 points and Kemar McLeish added 12 points for Majesty to outscore JDF 51-46, with the military men’s Keeble Wright featuring with a game-high 16 points. His JDF teammate Stephen Spence had 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Howard Daley (20 points, 12 rebounds) and Leighton Meeks (19 points) ensured St George’s Slayers outpointed descending Swift Sons 69-60. Omar O’Savio top-scored for the Sons with 15 points.
Kenardo Smith scored 20 points, grabbed 16 rebounds and had 21 steals for Portmore Flames to beat Selassie Gardens 60-56. Ricardo Willis had 17 points, 11 rebounds for Selassie Gardens.
Also in the Southern Conference, Runnin Rebels beat Blazing Panthers 62-58, thanks to Paron Brown (13 points) and Jermaine Patterson (11 points). However, the Panthers’ Dushane White was leading scorer in the match with 14 points
In the Eastern Conference, Garry Wilson (23 points) and Adrian Lattibeaudiere (21 points) guided Pure Playaz to a rollicking 93-53 win over Buff Bay Hawks. Carlisle Coulson netted 17 points and had 10 rebounds for the Hawks.
In another Eastern Conference match, Yallahs Gators, led by Xavier Gordon (21 points, 11 rebounds), defeated Portland Pistons 55-49. Franklin Kenton scored 15 points and had 10 rebounds for the Pistons.
In the Central Conference, Team Aaah overpowered Victory 80-61, while Nain More Ups forfeited their game against Spaulding Hippers.
