Writing was Patricia Roxborough-Wright’s passion. Getting the facts from limited information was daunting, but she triumphed. The other side of Pat was the ability to find a song in her head and play it instantly on the piano, which was her other love.

We at SuperClubs will always cherish the contribution she made to our entertainment package as our concert pianist. Guiding the unsure was one of her many strong points. How well I remember the many times she would encouragingly tell me how great I sounded on the piano, in between her infectious laughter which, with her bubbly persona, made everyone who went to the piano bar not want to leave. I would just suggest the songs and she “would run with them”, and after singing she would find another from the same era or the same artiste.

The sound of music was always inspirational for Pat and she will always be remembered as the quintessential singer and musician outside of the world of journalism.

I thank Pat for her guidance, her innate foresight and most of all her friendship.
