DIY Easter Basket
With all kinds of wonderful treats available for Easter, like the locally produced cookies and candies from Hannah’s Delights, an Easter gift basket would actually be a wonderful treat for your little ones. Whether it’s one of the few times of year they are allowed to, or it’s the treat they get at the end of Lent for their sacrifices, any child would be thrilled to get one of these baskets as a gift this Easter.
It isn’t something I normally do, and truthfully, would have made the cookies myself; however, when I saw these adorable Easter cookies and lollipops manufactured locally by Hannah’s Delights, I got the idea to do up a couple of these baskets as gifts. It’s fast and simple, and can cost under $1000.
You will need:
o A basket (cute pastel colours are available)
o Shredded filling (also available in pastel colours) that creates the look of a nest
o Cookies, candies, stuffed toy, cream-filled eggs or whatever you wish to add as a gift
o Invisible thread (in case stuff needs to be tied together or into position)
o Decorative cellophane or tulle
o ribbon
You will then:
o Fill basket with filler
o Arrange goodies the way you think they look best, placing them at different heights and levels, making sure to create balance
o Secure them to basket and each other using glue or invisible thread, to prevent them shifting
o Once they are secure and you are happy with placement, wrap basket in cellophane/tulle and secure with twisty tie and then decorative ribbon
