‘King’ Summerbell leads Dover qualifying
DOVER, St Ann — David ‘King’ Summerbell Jr is expected to be firing on all cylinders today at the Carnival of Speed as he leads the way in qualifying times in the Thunder Sport and MP4 at the Dover raceway yesterday with times of one minute 18.739 seconds and one minute 18.897 seconds, respectively.
He was followed by Doug Gore, one minute 20.848 seconds and one minute 19.854 seconds, around the track.
Alan Chen, Chris Campbell and George Bayley are the others with good times in the Thunder Sport, while Alan ‘Boom Boom’ Rae has the third fastest in the MP4.
David Summerbell Jr was pleased with his times. “We are in a great position and we have been consistently quick driving one minute 18 seconds and Doug is about half a second behind me. It is great and exciting and I’m looking forward to winning the Thunder Sport and the MP4,” he said.
