Spragga’s lawyers to meet with police
ATTORNEYS representing dancehall DeeJay Spragga Benz have agreed to meet with the East Kingston police who has named him as a person of interest last month.
The lawyers from the law firm Cheeks and Company, have hinted that they may seek legal redress for their client, whose repuataton may have been damaged by the police advisory which was issued hours after a triple murder in the community of McKintyre Villa, popularly known as ‘Dunkirk’ on Good Friday.
The police are seeking two men, Kwame Cunningham, also known as ‘Jet Li’ and Courtney Bethune, otherwise called ‘Zugu’ in connection with the triple murders.
Despite a directive by the police that both men should report to the East Kingston Police, they are still at large.
Cunningham is described as being 27 years old, with a dark complexion, slim build, and approximately five feet six inches tall.
He is said to have a scar on his neck and plucked/shaved eyebrows. He is known to frequent the Southside area and Stephen Street in Central Kingston.
Bethune is 24 years old, of dark complexion with a slim build and is approximately five feet tall. He has the symbol of a cross tattooed on his right arm and a scar on the left side of his face. Bethune is known to frequent the Southside area and Fleet Street.
Spragga Benz, whose name is Carlton Grant’ has denied any knowledge of the shootings. He was on tour at the time of the incident.
