Titanic to be re-released in 3-D next year
NEW YORK, USA (AP) — Titanic is coming back to theatres in 3-D.
Paramount Pictures and 20th Century Fox announced yesterday that James Cameron’s Oscar-winning film will be rereleased April 6 next year. The re-release is to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the Titanic setting sail on April 10.
Cameron says the film was “painstakingly” converted to 3-D and promises “an epic experience”.
Released in 1997, Titanic won 11 Academy Awards and grossed more than US$1.8 billion worldwide. That’s second only to Cameron’s Avatar.
