Flexxing with Shane-O
AT 16 years old, Roshain McDonald burst onto the music scene while still in high school. More popularly known as Shane-O, McDonald was still attending Kingston Technical High School when he was discovered by producer Rohan ‘Sno Cone’ Fuller in 2006 and recorded the hit Lightning Flash on the Applause Riddim.
Following this hit, Shane-O continued to produce hit songs including Crab Inna Barrel, Dogs In The Street and Ghetto Prayer. He has also worked with numerous producers including Jam 2 Productions and Stephen McGregor.
Fast-forward five years and Shane-O is back on the music scene with a new single Heart Nuh Clean.
“Di song was inspired by a personal experience wid a fren. But something good came out of the experience still, ’cause di song is currently on top in Japan,” Shane-O said.
The track was produced by Gold Mine Production and he also recently did a song with Alozade entitled Looks Weh Wi Have.
Shane-O says his passion for music is based off one thing — lyrics. And with determination he can make his way successfully through the business.
“Mi motivated to stay focused and keep my lyrics clean for my fans. My talent is in-born and mi inspired by my surroundings and di people dem who struggling to survive,” he said.
And in the hope of doing all this, he established his record label entitled Golden Records in June 2010. He is currently the only artiste signed, but hopes to sign many new artistes, as he believes in helping others to accomplish their dreams.
Fans can look out for more hit songs and new videos. He is also currently working on his album entitled One Man Against The World, which is due to be released by the end of this year.
Shane-O advises young artistes who are coming into striving to succeed in the music industry to “work hard and when you do a song don’t give up on it”.
He also advises TEENs to “stay in school, doh rush nothing, abstinence makes sense, nothing happens before its time and get a good education to reach far in life”. Fans may stay in touch on Facebook.com by searching for Shaneo Multimil or on Twitter.com/shaneomultimil.
