Holland move up in Trelawny football league
GEORGIA, Trelawny — Former champions Holland United moved up a place in the Trelawny Football Association’s National Rums of Jamaica Major League on Sunday, while Kinloss failed to draw level with leaders Granville as return-round action continued.
Holland scored a come-from-behind 2-1 win over Spicy Hill at Georgia playfield to improve to 24 points, two behind second-place Kinloss which moved them past three teams all tied on 21 points.
Terry Haughton had given Spicy Hill the lead after 15 minutes, but Romaine Lewis in the 51st minute and Vijay Gentles in the 70th took Holland to their seventh win and second in a row.
Kinloss failed to make use of Granville’s loss on Saturday as they could only draw 0-0 against Jackson Town at home and inched to 26 points, two shy of the leaders.
At Davis Pen, Preston and Duanvale played to a 1-1 draw as Nish Sterling gave the home team the lead in the first minute of the game, but Orlando Grey’s 83rd-minute striker gave Duanvale a share of the points.
