X-Men director rumoured to be the father of January Jones’ baby
She has kept mum on the identity of the father of her unborn child. But it seems her silence may be contributing to the intense rumours surrounding the paternity of X-Men star January Jones’ unborn baby. Now the film’s producer, and supermodel Claudia Schiffer’s husband, Matthew Vaughn, has been named among the potential dads-to-be. Vaughn’s no-show at a recent screening sent online commentators into a frenzy, suggesting the reason behind his no-show was the speculation. Vaughn was also unable to attend a screening of the new film because of ‘severe tonsillitis’. According to E! Online, Vaughn, director of her new movie X-Men: First Class had a ‘very close’ relationship with the actress on set. The article alleges Vaughn ‘abruptly’ left town at around the same time Jones made her surprise baby announcement in April even though he was scheduled to stay for another month. The report was picked up by the New York Daily News and several other news outlets, although it is no longer visible on the website. While the Mad Men actress, 33, has yet to reveal the identity of the baby’s father, some have said it could be an ex, while others have speculated Jones is keeping the name of her baby’s father a secret because he is not a single man.

Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon cleared
The social services investigation into Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon following the birth of their twins has finally been closed after officials decided there was no case to answer. The Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) concluded that there was ‘no merit’ to the case, which was sparked by an anonymous tip-off saying the Glitter star had been drinking near the babies. Apparently, social workers interviewed Mariah, 41, on Friday last and spent time with the twins before deciding her babies Moroccan and Monroe were in a ‘healthy and safe environment’. Celebrity website TMZ says Mariah’s lawyer, Laura Wasser, was present for the duration of the DCFS interview. The investigation was triggered by a phone call to DCFS complaining that Mariah had drunk Guinness while breast-feeding. The star and her husband were allowed to take their twins home from Cedars Sinai Medical Center last week, but their delight had been marred by the investigation into whether drugs and alcohol were used near the babies in hospital.

Jude Law reveals dramatic bald patch on the beach at Cannes
He’s long been accused of being follicularly challenged — and Jude Law’s hairline definitely appeared to be all at sea on a beach break in Cannes Friday last. The 38-year-old Sherlock Holmes star is having some time off on a well-earned break after being a judge at the city’s legendary film festival — but it appears that his hair has done a bunk, too. It appears his locks have receded all the way back to his crown with just a small tufty island marooned on the front half of his scalp. Father-of-four Jude, who had a daughter after a short relationship with American model Samantha Burke, has long had a rather dramatic widow’s peak. But it appeared that the tide had receded even further as he sat by the pool, despite rumours that he’s previously had a hair transplant.
