How budding style icon MAYA DEER does it
Maya Deer is a Jamaican fashionista: turning heads and camera lenses every time she steps out. She is a huge supporter of local designers and, every now and then, has an original piece created just for her. So with it being Fashion Season on the Rock, and Maya being such a lover of fashion, we asked her to show us just how she Rocks the Cloth.
1. Funky and eclectic, Maya mixes prints with floral leggings and a floral playsuit. She takes her look even further by adding a punch of red with a poncho and belt.
2. A printed silk fabric is fashioned as her top and is paired with shorts. But Maya adds her touch by popping funky red Jessica Simpson platforms and her funky faux fur stole.
3. Maya had Bari Moncreiffe turn a jewelled belt and some fabric into an open-front skirt for her, which she wears here with a simple LBD.
4. You’ve seen us just rock fabrics, but Maya’s take is to add pleats, braids and knots to create her no-sew dress.
5. Maya rocks it yet another way with knots to turn it into a blouse, which she wears with her snake-effect leggings and pumps.
See you at the shows … we know we’ll be seeing Maya!
