Fogo, Granville contest first-leg semis today

MONTEGO BAY, St James — Leaders and former champions Fogo United and Granville City will meet this afternoon at the UDC field in their first leg semi-finals of the St James Football Association’s Claro Senior League, set to start at 3:30 pm.

Fogo United topped the points table with 44 from 22 games played, while Granville City were fourth with 39 points, same as Montego Bay Boys Club, who will face Little Miami on Thursday in the other first-leg semis at the same venue.

The return legs will be played next Monday and Thursday, respectively.

Little Miami completed their schedule with 42 points and in second place, while Boys Club, who won the Claro Division One last season, edged Granville on more goals after they finished tied on 39 points and plus 18 goal-difference.

On Friday, Boys Club edged Mt Villa 2-1 at the UDC Field with Leroy Christie scoring both goals in the first half in the 19th and 30th minutes, as Tencil Davis pulled one back for Mt Villa in the 38th minute.

In another game played Friday, Granville City beat Salt Spring Roses 3-0.
