Pre-Ball Tips
As the time of year approaches where those tedious exams are over and most young ladies are searching for the classy diva heels, perfect ball dress and of course the right ball date, is now here once more as the effort to make this once in a lifetime night of experiences has now taken over the lives of many TEENs.
However, knowing the importance of such a grand memorable night, TEENage would like to not want you to forget an important aspect of your special occasion and as we have created a pre-ball list with entails of things to be done before the night of ball as to assist in making your night as close to perfect and a great experience.
Budget: The best ways to prepare for your ball night is to create a budget on how much money you plan to spend. Know your limit and then make a list of all estimated expenses of the night, so you won’t forget an important expense. You will be able to see where you fall short, what needs to be done and also where you can cut costs.
Right fit: Everyone wants to have all heads turning with that sexy, elegant ball dress. However, please remember not all styles fit will fit your body type. Get your dress/suit prior to the big day, so that you can make adjustments.
Wear your size: When shopping for ball shoes ensure that you purchase your size. It’s not a good look if you have a fabulous dress or a neat suit, but your shoes don’t fit. Get something that not only looks good, but fits. Also ‘break in’ your shoes if they are new. Remember, practise makes perfect.
Undergarments: This definitely for the girls. Not wearing the proper undergarments can completely ruin a dress. Ill-fitting undergarments are a distraction from your beauty. And we all have some trouble spots, but a good control pants will correct all. Preferably colours, such as black or nude normally does the trick.
What hair?: Always remember to shave! If you don’t like to shave, try waxing or products which will help you remove excess hair comfortably. It’s very unattractive to be seen with hairy underarms at a formal function or any event for that matter. Also if you are wearing a short dress don’t forget to shave your legs. Ensure that your date is also properly groomed.
Plan ahead: It’s always best to book early appointments to avoid the rush. Don’t forget to do your eyebrows and it’s possibly best if they are done a day or two before the night. However, if you are unable to get your make-up professionally done, try and ensure that the foundation you are planning to use matches your complexion and remember it’s better to use too little than too much.
Get a ride: Most times everyone wants to make a grand entrance in a limo or stylish vehicle. Ensure that all rides are sorted before the night of the event. One of the best ways is to plan with your friends and decide how exactly you all plan to reach to the ball and back home safely.
Check up: Never forget to check up on your date, to ensure that all is going well his his/her attire for the night.
Eat before you leave!: Last, but definitely not leave, have something to eat before you leave home. Even if it’s just a light snack and you go with the expectation that food will be provided, you may never know the odds of you not reaching on time to get any food or the food not tasting as how you’d like it. It’s never fun to party on an empty stomach.
