Why did Lord Glenconner leave millions to his manservant?
INHERITANCE: Lord Glenconner is
pictured with his long-time
manservant Kent Adonai.

Why did Lord Glenconner leave millions to his manservant?

How reassuring it seemed when Colin Tennant put his arm round his wife, Anne, at a family gathering in the ancestral castle of Glen, just before he died last year. Had the irascible old rogue, clearly suffering from the cancer that was to claim him a couple of months later, suddenly discover a tenderness for his long-suffering spouse of 55 long years? Sadly, it appears the rapprochement was a sham. In a last wilful act, committed just before he left his adopted home of St Lucia to return to Scotland for that brief visit, the beady old reprobate cut his family out of his will, leaving everything to his manservant, Kent Adonai. To add insult to injury, it appears he even described Kent as his ‘son’. As the Glenconners — Tennant had inherited the title Lord Glenconner — assembled recently for a memorial service for the eccentric peer at their local church in Peeblesshire, Lady Anne could hardly believe what had happened. “We are not angry, we are surprised,” she said in her well-mannered way, revealing the family has already tried to contest the will, but has so far found it impossible under St Lucian law. “My husband has given him about £3 million worth of land and stuff.” Adonai has already reportedly cleared the contents of his master’s house. They are expected to fetch him between £750,000 and £1 million when they go under the hammer at Bonham’s. “It was our family home, and some of the things belong to me. This has been distressing”, Lady Anne said.

Madonna and toy boy Brahim Zaibat reunite just weeks after their split

First she was spotted accompanying him to a Parisian nightclub where he was DJ-ing last weekend, and Sunday last Madonna was out again with Brahim Zaibat. The 52-year-old singer has reportedly rekindled her romance with the 24-year-old French hip-hop dancer, after they split last month. The couple, who previously dated for nine months, were pictured leaving the Ritz Hotel together in Paris to catch the Eurostar to London. Madonna couldn’t stop smiling as she strolled alongside her toy boy, 28 years her junior, in a black leather jacket as she held onto her matching hat. And as the Like a Virgin singer was dressed head-to-toe in black, Zaibat looked ever so chic in baby blue as his sunglasses hung around his neck. The pair were first spotted partying in the trendy VIP Room in the French capital last Saturday night, where they were seen kissing in the back of the club. They then left together arm-in-arm and returned to their hotel.

Anne Hathaway opens up about new boyfriend

After a drama riddled four-year relationship with ex-boyfriend Raffaello Follieri, who was jailed for fraud in 2008, Anne Hathaway was hoping to find a low-key romance. And it seems the 28-year-old actress got just that in current boyfriend, actor Adam Shulman.

In a new interview with Harper’s Bazaar, where the actress poses in a British-themed photo shoot, Anne says she currently feels content and comfortable in her two-year strong liaison. “So far, it’s worked out great,” she said. Anne admits that part of her problem with getting involved with the wrong men, was tending to get wrapped up in the “intensity of romance”. “[That] has its wonderful side, of course, but also it was exhausting, and sometimes it would freak me out,” she said. “Mellow doesn’t always make for a good story, but it makes for a good life.” In Anne’s dazzling shoot, the actress poses alongside two famous London icons — a red double-decker bus and telephone box.
