Majesty to seek clincher in Flow NBL
MAJESTY Legends will seek to dethrone Tivoli Wizards when game two of the Flow/National Basketball League best-of-three final gets under way tonight at 7:00 at the National Indoor Sports Centre.
In game one Thursday, Majesty downed the Wizards 88-83 and will hope for a repeat performance so that the Three Miles-based community will have an early summer party.
Baldon Todd, Kemar McLeish, Havando Dunn, and Damion Young are the backbone of the Majesty team that, under coach Ludlow Barker, have taken their fight low post and in the perimeter to temper the fast-paced game of Tivoli.
In addition Majesty, hungry for an all-island title, will depend on their hundreds of enthusiastic supporters to inspire them to victory against Tivoli who have rarely tasted back-to-back defeats.
For Tivoli, Anthony Farquharson, Kirk Ferguson, Andrew Whilby, and Omar Barnes have been central to the progress of the West Kingston-based unit, under the guidance of coach Edward Marshall.
Farquharson is ever consistent with Whilby rising to the occasion when key scorer Ferguson fails to fire. While Barnes is unreliable in attack, his defensive handiwork has rescued the defending champions many a time.
General admission is $500, with VIP seats going for $1,000. Students with ID will pay only $200, but those under 12 will be let in without charge. There will also be half-time entertainment and giveaways from the sponsors.
