Five winners crowned at equestrian competition
ALEX Chin, Frankie Chin, Adam Lake, Jason Walter, and Jordon Williams were crowned overall winners in the Equestrian Federation of Jamaica’s (EFJ) final leg of the Super, High, Medium and Low League at the Kingston Polo Club and Equestrian Centre, recently.
The Super League with the most challenging jump heights for the day at 1.20m saw Lake and his mount Alex’s Pegasus emerging with five faults and 24 points ahead of Jason Walter, partnered by Shambal with 13 faults and 22 points, while Gabriella Ralston on Miss Fran was third with 20 points and 16 faults.
Lake and Walter had a battle royale tying the super jumpers overall with 46 points each, while Ralston finished third with 31 points.
Meanwhile, Frankie Chin topped the High League competition for the third round and the overall standing after two exceptional clear rounds on Jiggy, ending with 48 points. Justin Vaz on Cassanova with four faults and 44 points placed second, while Trina deLisser on Ottis with two brilliant clear rounds earned 21 points to claim third place.
Williams on her mount Phoenix secured the Medium League after sailing through the first two rounds and ended with 40 points. DeLisser riding Ashes had eight faults and finished second with 39 points, while Lackief Leslie tallied 37 points for third, finishing round three with four faults.
Frankie’s twin sister Alex rode Hannah to victory in the Low League after two rounds. Chin ended with an overall score of 46 points, Victoria Jones on Stormy had four faults to finish with 43 points and Claire Schwapp on Goofy, with four faults and 42 points, placed third.
The jumping season resumes with the Caribbean Equestrian Association (CEA) final leg of the jumping competition on November 5 and 6 at the Kingston Polo Club and Equestrian Centre.
