Pregnant Beyoncé debuts baby bump at the MTV Video Music Awards

Beyoncé has revealed she is expecting her first baby. The singer made the surprise announcement as she debuted her baby bump on the red carpet at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday Night.

Wearing a long orange gown by Lanvin, the 29-year-old clutched her visible bump and told assembled press: “I have a surprise!”

After a fabulous performance of Love On Top that attracted a standing ovation from the audience, Beyoncé ripped open her jacket and proudly rubbed her baby bump. The cameras panned to the audience where Jay-Z was beaming, as his friend Kanye West jumped up and down, smacking the father-to-be on the back and shaking him.

Beyoncé, who has won 16 Grammy awards, said in a recent interview that she feels she has achieved enough in her career to settle down and make family a priority. “Now I’m a woman, and because I gave it my all, I can focus on my marriage. I can decide I want to have kids. I can be the mother I want to be and dedicate myself to my children.” Beyoncé married rapper Jay-Z on September 4, 2008 in New York.

Rafael Nadal unveils his new Armani underwear advert

Tennis champion, Rafael Nadal, has been stripping down once again for his second campaign with Emporio Armani. The 25-year-old made an appearance at Macy’s Herald Square in New York on last week, where he saw the new campaign photos for the first time. The two new shots of the AW/11 campaign shows a polished Nadal wearing nothing but a pair of tight briefs and a smouldering stare in one photograph, and an unbuttoned pair of jeans in another. He first modelled for the label back in January, but the news came as a shock to his fans who knew him for his shy and reserved attitude. However, Nadal was quick to point out that he hasn’t become fashion-obsessed, nor does his girlfriend, Maria Francisca Perello, offer him style advice. “If I see something I like, I get it,” the Spanish player said. His contract with Armani sees him follow in the footsteps of football players, David Beckham and Christiano Ronaldo. But it’s not just fashion that Nadal’s interested in. With the start of the US Open Tennis Championships being just days away, the sportsman has been busy practising on a daily basis, but he has also found time to catch a Broadway show in the form of Mamma Mia: “The music was fabulous,” he said. The champion is currently staying in a hotel near Central Park and has admitted he loves “being around all the people” in the busy city, which is great as it means he can stand and admire his 20 foot billboard all day long amongst the hustle and bustle of Manhattan. Perfect.

Cheers!

In order to give fans an insight into what goes on in her world, Rihanna has chosen a documentary-style video for her new song Cheers (Drink To That). The footage shows her dressing up, drinking and hanging out with friends. She is filmed in her car, swimming, relaxing backstage and performing in concerts. Some of the video was shot while the 23-year-old singer was on holiday in her native Barbados earlier this year. There is a cameo appearance from Avril Lavigne, who is seen raising her glass to the camera before skateboarding along the edge of a swimming pool and falling in fully clothed. Cheers (Drink To That) features snippets from Avril’s song I’m With You. The video’s various scenarios paint a picture of Rihanna’s life both on and offstage, but centre around the superstar and her friends celebrating and drinking together. She is also seen flying on a private jet, avoiding paparazzi, and at one point dressing up in a full glittery carnival outfit. The song is the seventh to be released from Rihanna’s number one album Loud.
