Port Antonio hold Buff Bay to goalless draw
BUFF Bay High were held to a goalless draw by Port Antonio High in a Zone K daCosta Cup match at Lynch Park yesterday.
Despite the draw. they Buff Bay still lead the group as Titchfield High got by Fair Prospect, 1-0, and Annotto Bay High stalled Happy Grove, 2-0, at Hector’s River.
The first half was dominated by Port Antonio as they launched a number of attacks through Orian Brown, Condel Kennedy, Rushane Taylor and St Aubyn Tracey, but found defenders Shevon Bailey and Wayne Thompson hard to penetrate.
Buff Bay got a glorious opportunity to take the lead in the 70th minute when Rohan Surage brought down Richard Kenton in the penalty area and referee Vern Harris pointed to the spot.
The resultant kick by Rudolph Walker to the right saw goalkeeper Ayoun Walters diving correctly to hold the ball to deny Buff Bay.
Port Antonio undauntedly continued to attack and were early on the ball as the half ended goalless.
The second period saw the momentum falling, but in the dying moments, Buff Bay came alive, launching a number of attacks through Miller, Kenton and Wray.
