Audi sales overtake BMW
ATL Autohaus is reporting that, for the first time, sales of its premium brand Audi has surpassed BMW in Jamaica.
Anthony Desnoes general manager and Audi brand manager at ATL Autohaus revealed numbers yesterday showing worthwhile growth in the sales of brands from the dealership. ATL Autohaus and sister-company ATL Britannia are local dealers for Audi, VW Land Rover and Jaguar.
According to Desnoes the sales performance would have been exceptional in four years but the dealership has achieved the feat in a mere 18 months since first opening. “At this point in time we are ahead of where we thought we would be,” he remarked yesterday.
Desnoes said that during the first four months of this year less than six Audis were sold per month.
But for the last four months, June to September, ATL Autohaus has stepped up to sell 12 Audi vehicles per month.
This figure, Desnoes said, is ahead of the reported 15 BMWs sold per month by Stewart’s during the same period.
And in total, all ATL brands combined have sold 103 vehicles for the month of September.
ATL Automotive has also revealed that the newly introduced Range Rover Evoque has picked sales although the vehicle is yet to be launched locally.
The vehicle dubbed the baby Range is expected to reach the local market at approximately $7.5 million placing it in price competition with the Toyota Prado.
