Pre-season favourites Berger and Patrick Gardens Youth Academy will contest the final of the Washington Business House Five-a-Side Football Competition set for the Washington Gardens Community Centre this evening at 5:00 pm.

Berger slammed Daytona 6-0 on Friday to book their place in the decider, while Patrick Gardens were 5-0 winners against Heart in the other semi-final played last Monday.

In Friday’s semi-final, Richard Latchman scored a brace to lead Berger to victory, while the other goals came from K Cain, C Thorpe, D McCarthy and W Mendez.

On Monday, Patrick Gardens Youth Academy were equally impressive, as they were led by four goals from Leighton McLarty in a 5-0 win over HEART.

The Waterhouse Under-21 player netted a first-half hat-trick and added his fourth minutes into the second-half to seal the win for the under-dogs.

Andre Sinclair netted the game’s other goal midway the half to help the young Patrick Gardens team to their second such win over the said opponent after a similar 5-0 win in the preliminary round.

In two meetings this season, Berger came from behind twice to get the better of their young Patrick Gardens opponents, winning the first game 5-4 and the second 2-1.
