Necessary Luxury – Ryan Brown

STAYING connected is a must; it is critical for me to be able to communicate with friends, family, colleagues and business contacts at all times. My Digicel BlackBerry allows me to do this; I never leave home without it.
Music is a major part of my world and my iPod, armed with my favourite genres, provides all the music I need. In a high-stress work environment, music keeps me going on those long days and gives me that extra push when I have to meet tight deadlines. Being mobile is not only essential for my job but for a fast-paced individual like myself being stuck is not an option. My “Munchi” (aka car keys) ensure that I get where I need to go and fast.
My Tru-Juice OJ — and believe me, this is no plug — is a must, as a healthy mind and body is something I take very seriously. The ability to make quick decisions and general mental agility reflect my state of health, and quality food is an important part of maintaining a healthy body and mind.
I almost forgot my laptop — what can I say? I’m an IT guy and monitoring the latest trends is a big part of what I do. My laptop goes where I go and gives me the flexibility to connect with my office, respond to emergencies and basically do my job from wherever I am.
I hate walking around with cash and we all need money, so my credit card presents a compromise.
Finally, my UTech graduation ring is an important part of my daily wardrobe as it represents a turning point in my life and is a confirmation that hard work has its rewards.
