Smirnoff provides nightlife experience for fan
DONMAR Palmer will be partying with Madonna and thousands of New Yorkers in the Big Apple on November 12 courtesy of Smirnoff, after emerging the winner of the vodka brand’s online promotion for the Smirnoff nightlife exchange project.
Palmer, who is from Kingston, is a fan of Smirnoff’s rapidly growing Facebook page and won the trip for referring the most friends to the page. Palmer’s prize includes a round trip, spending money, hotel accommodation, ground transportation and the chance to experience the world’s biggest and best party – the Smirnoff Nightlife Exchange Project.
“I’m feeling really happy and surprised because I have never been on a plane or travelled before but now Smirnoff is giving me the first opportunity to see the Big Apple,” said Palmer. “I would like to extend a warm thanks to the Smirnoff team, friends and family who actually signed up the referral form on the Smirnoff Jamaica Facebook page to win the tickets to New York.”
Madonna, one of the world’s top female artistes, partnered with Smirnoff on the nightlife exchange project to scout the world for the best dancer to be a part of her next tour. Several of Jamaica’s top dancers such as Mystic Davis and Latesha entered the competition and the winner is expected to be announced soon.
Fifty countries across the world are participating in the Smirnoff nightlife exchange project with the goal of getting 10 million people to discover, share and swap the most original nightlife on November 12. The idea behind the project is that cities around the world renowned for their nightlife experience will exchange themes, cultures and ideas for one night. Central to the experience is an array of Smirnoff mixes representing each city. Kingston’s cocktail is the ‘Jamaica Sunrise’.
Kingston will swap nightlife with London and Smirnoff brand manager Safia Cooper said the rave culture London is known for will be a main theme at the event.
“Expect unique lighting, London-themed fashion, or as we like to call it, London Swag, and international music mixes from Baby Drew, who is the DJ for R&B sensation Chris Brown,” said Cooper.
“Smirnoff is all about bringing together the world’s best mixed drinks and the world’s most original nightlife experience and that’s what the Smirnoff Nightlife Exchange Project represents,” added Cooper.
Palmer is one of 10 consumers from around the world who have won a trip to New York courtesy of Smirnoff.
