Reverse French Manicure
Many persons have grown accustomed to the classic French manicure. However, over the years, this look has transformed into what is more popularly known as a reverse French manicure. It is called a reverse because unlike the regular French manicure, a light colour is used at the base of the nail and the darker colour is added to the tips. Here is how you can get this fun spin on the classic…
Products Needed:
* Base Coat (white or pink)
* 2 different shades of nail polish
* Top coat
* Acetone
* Cotton
* Orange stick
* Warm water
* Hole reinforcements / half-moon manicure guides
Steps:
* Soak hands in warm water to allow the cuticles to soften.
* Use the orange stick to push back the cuticles.
* If nail polish is already on the nail surface, dab cotton in acetone and gently remove the polish from the nails.
* Apply base coat to each nail and allow it to dry.
* Select a colour (preferably the lighter of the two polishes) and make a crescent shape at the base of each nail. If you are not very artistic create a stencil by cutting the hole reinforcements in half (or a half-moon manicure guide), and place at the base of the nail. Paint the nails within the stencil.
* Allow this to dry then remove the reinforcement stickers.
* Paint the remainder of the nails with your second polish.
* Allow this to dry then apply a top coat.
* Use acetone-drenched cotton to remove nail polish that may have been accidentally applied to the skin around the nail to give a more finished look.
