Natural Bee Honey
While browsing the supermarket shelves recently, we came across a naturally sweet treat — with a twist — that we couldn’t resist sharing with our readers. Think pure golden-brown Jamaican honey conveniently packaged. This naturally sweet alternative to sugar is now available in a practical travel-size sachet for your indulgence, whenever and wherever. Distributed by Natural Bee Products, this size sweetener was introduced to the market in March of this year. “Natural Bee Products has invested in equipment that will allow it to manufacture portion-controlled packages of honey and honey mixtures for distribution to the local and foreign food service markets and health facilities, including gyms,” explained Rose Allen, who shares duties with husband Anthony as managing partners of Natural Bee Products. In addition to various bottles and sizes of honey, the company also distributes cinnamon leaves, chocolate and nutmegs.
One sachet of honey costs $25, while a packet of 12 goes for $300. And it doesn’t hurt either that there are several great health benefits to having honey in your diet. “It is a natural immune system builder with both antioxidant and antibacterial properties, which can help to improve the digestive system and fight diseases. It is also a natural energy booster with a hearty source of carbohydrates, which provide strength and energy to our bodies,” Allen told Thursday Food. The ‘snip, pour and sip’ package is great for gym enthusiasts and for those who do not use processed sugars. The natural Bee Honey sachets can be found at John R Wong, New Kingston; General Foods, Liguanea; General Foods, Ocho Rios; Liguanea Drug and Garden Centre; Hi Lo, Pavilion, and Gymkhana.
