Enagic looks to open office in Kingston
ENAGIC Corporation, a leading manufacturer of alkaline ionisers and water filtration machines, hopes to make Jamaica the hub of its regional operations.
The Japanese company would “like to establish an office in Jamaica to sell and service the huge market that exists in the region,” it said on Sunday.
“We are embarking on reaching the whole world,” said Leroy Francis, a global sales leader for the company. At the very least, Enagic will be setting up a service area here to honour the warranties on the products.
“We came here to see what’s happening and to prepare a ,” he said. From there, the decision will be made on how best to proceed.
Enagic, the owner of US trademarks Kangen Water and ENAGIC, has delivered hundreds of thousands of machines worldwide to transform ordinary tap water to alkaline drinking water for the past three decades.
Over 300 machines are already being used in Jamaica, but these have been bought from the company’s office in the US and have to be returned there for repairs should they be needed, Francis said.
The company already has 20 orders to be filled from the launch alone. The machines retail for between US$1,280 ($110,000) to US$3,980, depending on the size and model that is chosen.
The company claims that the machines, which have three to five-year warranties, improve quality of life by improving
the water.
The human body is composed of 70 per cent water, Heronari Oshiro, president of Enagic Corporation, said. “It is no exaggeration to say that the basis of vitality and long life is water. Enagic offers safe water that can be used with confidence to benefit health, beauty, sanitation and cuisine, and the company pledges to realise a revolution in ‘True Health’ — physical, economic and mental.
“As the evolution of information technology con-tinues, we have entered the age of ‘human technology market-ing’. Market vitality now depends upon a merging of high technology and the personal relationship between human beings,” he said.
