My Digicel MiFi experience

EVERYONE should know by now that I am not the sharpest tool in the technological box. I’ll follow instructions well enough (if I really have to read them) and I don’t try to know anything beyond what is necessary.

Which is why, the Digicel MiFi is perfect for me.

What exactly is the Digicel MiFi?

It is a 4G broadband-powered, portable hotspot modem that allows users to create their own mobile 4G hotspot wherever they are. With that, we can simply say it’s Digicel’s latest technological masterpiece.

I’m sure everyone can attest to the fact that they have encountered situations where they are in dire need of Internet, but their location or situations beyond their control doesn’t always allow for that.

Whether you are a student and all the computers in the library are occupied; or you are a passenger on a bus and you remember you failed to send off an important file, Digicel’s newest innovation can easily alleviate those misfortunes. Believe it or not, the MIFi device works like a private hotspot offering the benefits of Digicel’s high-speed 4G Broadband.

In any one area, as many as five devices can by accessed via the MiFi. The resounding theme of the MiFi device is simply this, convenience. Additionally, as a means of increasing efficiency and accessibility, each MiFi device can also be password-enabled to ensure that only authorised users can access the system.

There is also another great advantage of using the Digicel MiFi; it is cost effective.

Each device is being offered at a cost of $6,950.00 with a monthly subscription fee of $3,500 while for postpaid customers, the MiFi hotspot device will have unlimited 4G broadband.

Very cost efective if you consider that you can go on the Internet for $100 (prepaid), no joke.

Adding credit is a whole other discussion (I don’t want to go into that episode, bottom line, it was all my fault).

Considering that this device can be accessed both indoors and out, such prices are a lot more than a bargain.

The product was officially launched in September, and according to director of Broadband, Digicel, James McElvanna: “We have seen a fantastic reaction from among our SME’s users for the MiFi device since we launch it over two months ago; the Digicel MiFi device is fast becoming a must-have for business executives who need 4G connectivity”.

Who can blame them?

The MiFi is also perfect device for on-the-go small and medium-sized business owners, who have been taking full advantage of the plethora of benefits, in fact, the MiFi is the perfect Internet-providing device for anyone.
