My refrigerator is not freezing properly
Dear Claudienne
I recently purchased a nine cubic ft Whirlpool refrigerator from Singer, Spanish Town for cash. However, it is not freezing properly. I complained to Singer and they sent a technician to check it, but it is still not freezing. It takes several days to freeze. The technician changed the timer but it is still not working properly. Previously I had a refrigerator of the same brand and size and when the same number of one pound bags of water (8) were placed in the freezer they would freeze in one day.
I would like them to change the fridge. Could you please check with them for me.
DG
Dear DG
We called Singer and the customer service spokesperson suggested that you appeared to be overloading the freezer of the refrigerator as you were using it for commercial purposes in a bar.
We note that they sent a technician to look at the problem and he discovered that the thermostat was turned down too low. The technician said that on a previous visit he had set the thermostat at the correct temperature and requested that you not interfere with the gauge. However, someone had meddled with it and turned it down too low.
We see that since his last visit, you are now satisfied with the performance of the refrigerator.
Good luck.
Dear Claudienne
I am a pensioner from Post and Telecom. I retired on January 12, 1999. My Widows and Orphans contributions were partially refunded to me in December 2005 in the sum of $26,344.02.
However, I am still due to get a refund for the contributions I made between 1999 and 2004 after I had retired.
I applied to the Pensions Administration Client Service for the refund on July 29, 2008, but to no avail. I also sent them all my cheque stubs as proof that the deductions were made from my pension.
Could you kindly help me.
MT
Dear MT
Tell Claudienne contacted the Ministry of Finance, and the Pensions Administration Branch informed us that your case was closed as you had been duly paid in the amount of $26,344.02. The Ministry said that any contributions deducted from your pension would have been done by the Accountant General.
We spoke to the Pensions Department at the Accountant General and their investigations showed that they had in error made the deductions from your pension between 1999-2004. They have promised to refund you the amount but were vague as to when you would get the cheque. We will follow thiis up to get a time line as to when you will get the cheque.
Good luck.
