Deja va-va-voom!

People Post

Her saucy taste in red carpet outfits is becoming her trademark. And Carol Vorderman’s dress for the National Television Awards last Wednesday at the O2 Arena didn’t disappoint in that department. The 51-year-old wore a pale pink floor-length gown that featured a plunging neckline and bustier, putting her cleavage on prominent display for yet another glittering occasion. The Suzanne Neville dress was actually recycled from another event the television presenter attended in 2010 — and it raised just as many eyebrows the first time round. Vorderman previously made headlines when she poured her curves into the figure-hugging gown at the Rose D’Or awards in Switzerland in September 2010. The Countdown star has previously said that when she finds a dress she loves, she’ll wear it over and over again — famously quipping that she has her beloved Roland Mouret Galaxy dress ‘down to a fiver’ on a cost-per-wear basis. Carol added to the sex appeal of the off-the-shoulder dress with tousled hair and smokey eye make-up. She is becoming infamous for her penchant for provocative red carpet wear, often choosing to highlight her cleavage over her ‘rear of the year’. She posed with the somewhat more understated Janet Street Porter, Andrea McLean, and Lisa Maxwell on the red carpet.

Red hot Kate

She’s never been the biggest of women. But Kate Beckinsale looked slimmer than ever as she continued promoting her latest Underworld movie at a photo call for the film in Madrid, Spain, on Wednsday. The 38-year-old actress highlighted her slender figure in a maroon sleeveless dress, which featured a knot detail just above the hips — drawing the eye to the mother of one’s incredibly tiny waist. Beckinsale teamed the classically stylish dress by Michael Kors with a pair of leg-lengthening nude heels as she posed for photographers. She told Style magazine: “I did go through a period of looking quite unfortunate. I wore men’s pyjama trousers and my brother’s jumper and I cut my own hair.” Beckinsale returns as vampire Selene in the latest offering in the franchise, Underworld: Awakening. And the inclusion of the stunning brunette is no doubt the main reason that the fourth film in the franchise topped the US box office on its opening weekend. The film took $25.3million, while last week’s number one movie, the thriller Contraband, fell to third place with just over $12million.

Showing the strain

Strain in her face and cigarette in hand, Rumer Willis appeared distressed after visiting mother Demi Moore in hospital. The 23-year-old dashed to the actress’s bedside at a Los Angeles medical centre after she collapsed on Monday night. It has been claimed that 49-year-old Demi, who has looked increasingly frail since her split from Ashton Kutcher, was rushed to hospital after a laughing gas binge at her LA mansion. Rumer has been seen outside the hospital twice. On the second occasion she obscured her face with sunglasses. She has been desperately worried about her mother and has reportedly phoned Ashton, who is currently in Brazil, to ask for his help. A source told Hollywoodlife.com: “Rumer is devastated. She worries day and night about her mother and has been watching her mom fall apart. Rumer actually reached out to Ashton on several occasions and he just blew her off.”

Ashton refused to respond when he was asked about his estranged wife’s health yesterday. He was caught on camera by showbiz site TMZ as he was leaving a nightclub in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Prescription medication is also reported to have played a part in her hospitalisation and that her consistent use was one of the causes of her marriage collapse to Two and a Half Men star Ashton. But her spokesperson said the actress is seeking “professional assistance” after the stresses of recent months. Insiders have also said Demi was troubled and not looking after herself long before Monday night’s hospital dash. They say the problems began as she endured her break-up with Kutcher.
