Arnett, Lion in exciting draw
THE winless run of Humble Lion and Arnett Gardens continued after they battled to an exciting 0-0 draw in their Red Stripe Premier League match at the Effortville Community Centre in Clarendon yesterday.
Incidentally, Humble Lion which have not won in their last six games, gained a spot to fifth on 37 points ahead of the inactive Harbour View who will be involved in the Monday night game.
The Lenworth Hyde Snr-coached Humble Lion have seen the title ambitions all but dashed, currently lying 14 points adrift of the leaders, who have a game in hand. The next best bet for the Clarendon outfit is a top-six finish entering the fourth and
final round.
Arnett also have not won in their last six games dating back to January 4, when they defeated Reno 2-0 and
have slipped a spot to ninth on 32 points.
But despite Humble Lion bossing possession throughout the game, it was the visiting Arnett Gardens which came closest to scoring on a
few occasions.
Lamar Nelson, who showed tremendous skill throughout, saw his shot crashed on the crossbar and grazed the upright with goalkeeper
Garth heron well beaten in the 57th minute.
A few minutes later Kirk Ramsey goal-bound left footer was tipped onto the crossbar in the 60th minute.
