VIDEO: Courtney John says It’s Gonna Be Alright
REGGAE artiste Courtney John says he prefers to be called a lovers rock singer. But his newest single, It’s Gonna Be Alright, is a call to be positive and optimistic.
The singer said the idea for the song came to him after he was in a supermarket parking lot and notice how everyone around seemed down.
“The song just came into my head,” he said. “What are you worrying for? It’s going to be alright”.
Courtney John said so far he is receiving positive feedback.
“I kinda feel that this song is one of those songs that came from a place that understands what people are going through and experiencing now,” he said. He said he also hopes the song will bring about a resurgence of reggae music with positive themes.
The reggae artiste said his newest single is part of an album, Letters To Words, which is currently being putting together at Harmony House.
“The album will be available around the end of March. We are actually treating It’s Gonna Be Alright as the lead single and I have two more singles to release before I release the album,” he said.
Courtney John believes the new single is important, not only for his career but also for the music industry.
“I am really active in getting it out there. I still sell a lot of a lot of records. Sometimes the artistes that sell a lot of records oftentimes are not those who you see out at the fore. At the end of the day, the numbers is the only thing that matters,” Courtney John said.
