Norwood seek third straight win
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Promoted side Norwood Strikers will go in search of win number three this afternoon when they take on Granville City at Albion in the St James Football Association’s Senior League.
Norwood who were runners -up in the Division One last season, is the only team with a perfect win record in the league and leads Zone B with six points, two more than Granville City, who are coming off a 1-0 win over Violet Kickers on Monday.
Alex Smith leads Norwood with three goals, while Kamal Smith has scored two. Granville has scored two goals in their two games played.
Zone A leaders Little Miami with seven points from three games will face North Gully Ambassadors on two points at the UDC field.
Little Miami are expected to win after having their perfect win record snapped last week with a 1-1 draw against Melbourne who will play Mountain Villa at Wyndham today.
Melbourne scored their first win on Monday, edging Revelations 4-3, thanks to a hat-trick from Damion James.
Trevan Allen fired Melbourne into the lead after five minutes and James scored his first in the 23rd minute for a 2-0 lead.
Conroy Clarke in the 36th minute and Denton Crooks in the 51st scored to bring revelations back on level terms before James scored two more in the 71st and 77th minutes to give Melbourne a 4-2 lead, before Sebastian Robinson scored in the 87th minute to draw Revelations to within a goal.
