Ladies and gentlemen, the chairmen and women of the board!

THE Government yester-day announced the composition of 20 boards, seven of which are chaired by women and two of which feature the return of former Tourism Minister John Junor and former Agriculture Minister Desmond Leaky.

Junor chairs the Natural Resources Conservation Authority (NRCA) and the Town and Country Planning Authority (TCPA), both of which have almost identical membership. Leaky is deputy chairman of the Sugar Company of Jamaica Holdings Limited (SCJ).

The women heading boards are: Donna Scott-Mottley, Sugar Company of Jamaica Holdings Limited; Maria Jones, Aeronautical Telecommuni-cations Limited (AEROTEL); Joan Spencer-Ernandez, Caribbean Maritime Institute; Elise Wright-Goffe Real Estate Board and Commission of the Strata Corporation; Dr Judith Robinson, Advisory Board of the National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA), and Dr Denise Eldemire-Shearer, Board of Supervision.

Easily recognised faces among the chairmen include Joseph A Matalon, Jamaica Railway Corporation (JRC); Brian George, Ports Security Corps; Rev Devon Dick, Toll Authority, and Dr Peter-John Gordon, Maritime Authority of Jamaica (MAJ). Other celebrities include Beverley Anderson-Duncan and Dr Marion Bullock-DuCasse, who are members of the Office of the Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) board; Andrew Price of the Aeronautical Telecommunications Limited (AEROTEL) and Robert ‘Bobby’ Finzi-Smith of the Ports Security Corps.

Other members of the 20 boards named yesterday are:

SCJ — Paul Wilson; Robert Henriques; Rev Hartley Perrin; Vincent Morrison; Dr Morais Wallen; Hopeton Morrison; George Callaghan and a representative of the Ministry of Finance and Planning, with effect from April 1, 2012 to March 31, 2013.

Museums of History and Ethnography (customs and charasterics of peoples and their cultures) — Jeffrey Hall, chairman; Lisa Whiteman Harrison; Mark McIntosh; Dr Rebecca Tortello; Mark Thomas; Everton Maitland; Dr Orville Taylor; Professor Swithin Wilmott; Dr Matthew Smith; Ainsley Henriques; Billy Heaven; Jeffrey Brown, and the principal administrator, with effect from March 12, 2012 to March 11, 2015.

Montego Bay Metro Limited — Gordon Brown, chairman; Joan Wynter; Devon Watkis; George Duncan; Aldin Bellinfantie; Robert Hendricks; Donald Colomathi; Norman Reid; the managing director, Montego Bay Metro Limited, and the chief executive officer, Jamaica Urban Transit Company, with effect from March 12, 2012 to March 11, 2015.

Toll Authority — Muna Issa; Cosmo Brooks; Guy Morris; Greta Bogues; Pauline Finlay; ex Officio members Earl Patterson and Dr Janine Dawkins, with effect from March 19, 2012 to March 18, 2015.

JRC — Steve Distant, vice Chairman; Patrick Stanigar; Maurice Jones; George Nicholson; Christopher Leckie; Winston Hayden; Sanya Goffe, and Everton Hannam, with effect from March 12, 2012 to March 11, 2015.

National Road Operating and Constructing Company Limited — Dr Wayne Reid – chairman; Steve Whittingham; Millicent Hughes;Veronica Warmington; Janet Coleman-Howlett, and Rezworth Burchenson, with effect from March 12, 2012 to March 11, 2015.

Road Maintenance Fund — Peter Jervis, chairman; David Shirley; Rev Dr Winston Carter; Effiom Whyte; Clive Tapper; Merlette Barrett-Fender; Wayne Gentles; ex-officio members Barrington Mills, Earl Patterson, Alston Esmie, and Clinton Anderson, with effect from March 12, 2012 to March 11, 2015.

Ports Security Corps — Mark Chisholm; Carol Palmer; Rev Dr Paul Gordon; Earl Richards; Andrew Azar; Michelle Bryan; Lt Col Derek Robinson; Francine Staple; Assistant Commissioner of Police Clifford Blake; Orane Bailey, and Yvonne Barnett-Russell, with effect from March 12, 2012 to March 11, 2015.

AEROTEL — Johann Heaven; Joan-Marie Powell; Hugh Martin; Colin Leslie; Jeffrey Spooner; Jodi Barrow, and Lt Coll Oscar Derby, with effect from March 12, 2012 to March 11, 2015.

Maritime Authority of Jamaica — Robert Kinlocke; Shauna Bailey; Kemel Allen; Dr Nadine McLeod; Dr Kevin Harriott; Janice Miller; Valerie Simpson, and Rear Admiral Peter Brady, ex-officio, with effect from March 12, 2012 to March 11, 2015.

Caribbean Maritime Institute — Captain Hopeton DeLisser; Rosalie Donaldson; Denise Lyn Fatt; Evroy Johnson; Professor Gossett Oliver; Grantley Stephenson; Emerson Alleyne; Rev Miranda Sutherland; Barbara Cadogan; Deneice Aiken, and Fritz Pinnock, ex-officio, with effect from March 12, 2012 to March 11, 2015.
