HI-INDEX lenses, anti-reflective coatings and globally recognised brand-name frames are things that Jamaicans have now become accustomed to when seeking optical solutions for eye-care.

This was not always the case. However, with the emergence of Vision Plus Optical, world class lens and frames are now available to all Jamaicans.

The company, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary of being in the business of optical eye-care solutions, says it has the enviable record of being the first Jamaican company to offer quick turnaround for first world optical solutions.

“It is harder to maintain the highest standards of customer service in Jamaica as opposed to more developed countries because of turnaround time,” Brandie Kirkland, managing director at the company, revealed. However, she cites 20 years of commitment to providing quality service to customers and meticulous planning as being keys to the company obtaining and maintaining high standards.

Locally, the optical eye-care market has witnessed significant development over the last 20 years. Kirkland recalls that when Vision Plus Optical opened its doors there were very few similar companies in Jamaica.

Today, there are over 30 retailers in the market, giving Jamaicans wide ranging alternatives.
