NCB reintroduces its Lovebird
NATIONAL Commercial Bank (NCB) will today relaunch its Lovebird Keycard, offering cardholders reward points towards earning discounted travel packages to any Air Jamaica destinations.
Holders of the Lovebird Keycard accumulate travel reward points as they purchase items with the credit card. NCB started issuing the Lovebird Keycard cards in 1995. The product has enjoyed widespread popularity among Jamaicans, but has been relatively under the radar as Air Jamaica made its transition to Caribbean Airlines Limited, which acquired the national airline in 2010.
With today’s launch of the new Lovebird Keycard campaign, “Follow the Bird”, NCB said it will introduce a newly designed card with enhanced features.
“This is a very exciting campaign for us at NCB,” said Claudette Rodriguez, NCB assistant general manager, cards services.
“We took the time to listen and respond to what our customers and the wider market said they need from their credit card and developed a plan to reach out to them in a way that we have never done before. This has resulted in a superior package that is already a winner among our existing base,” she added.
Among the new features, NCB said customers should look forward to points that last longer, the option to travel to any Air Jamaica/Caribbean Airlines destination and the ability to transfer rewards to anyone they choose.
“The ability to share your rewards with friends and family has become an early favourite, followed closely by the extension of the lifetime of the points earned to four years,” Rodriguez revealed.
Other major upgrades include numerous opportunities to earn bonus points throughout the lifetime of the product, says NCB.
The bank still offers one reward point for $62.50 worth of purchases, with points expiring 48 months after the transaction date. Cardholders get an automatic bonus of 500 points when they add an additional member.
The NCB Keycard brand this month celebrates its 31st year as Jamaica’s first and only proprietary credit card.
“Certainly, this a time of reflection for us. We have enjoyed 175 years of serving Jamaicans and the role of our loyal customers is not lost on us. Coupled by the heightened nationalism and pride of Jamaica’s 50th Anniversary of Independence, we can’t think of a more appropriate time to express our appreciation to the people who have kept our doors open for nearly two centuries,” said Sheree Martin, NCB general manager, marketing communications and service delivery.
