Unashamed 2012 brings hundreds to Chancellor Hall
LAST Saturday evening, hundreds of students from the University of the West Indies, Mona (UWI), flooded the lawns of Chancellor Hall to engage in praise and worship at Unashamed 2012.
Unashamed 2012, its second staging this year, is a free gospel concert that was open to university students and was hosted and organised by Chancellor Hall.
The praise and worship session begun around 7:00 pm and by 10:00 pm the main lawn area of Chancellor was filled with hundreds of students who were eager to receive their aointing and hear what positive messages the artists had to offer.
The list of gospel artistes who performed featured only well-known local gospel artistes who each gave nothing less than magnificent performances. These artistes included: The Chancellor Hall Choir, Apostle, Chansea, singers from Taylor Hall, Jaycian Currie, Nadje Leslie, A.I.U, Ruth, Lyric, Caleb, J-Projek, J-Son, Silent Praise, Chosen Vessel, J.Cee, Prodigal Son, Garfield, Lypher, Omari, Kevin Downswell and DJ Nicholas.
The testimonies of Prodigal Son and Downswell moved many to tears. But at the end of their set many students were reflecting on the meaning of their lyrics.
DJ Nicholas’ ran unto the stage next and blazed some of his hits, such as Naah Bow and Cut It Off. As expected by the audience, DJ Nicholas closed the show with his famous song called Holy Ghost Gym.
The worship at Chancellor Hall was truly unashamed
