Bill Express offers protection for utility payments
Bill Express has launched a new product that will offer customers free insurance coverage on light and water bills for up to two months.
The new product offering, Bill Protect, is a collaboration between Bill Express and sister company Jamaica International Insurance Company (JIIC). Both companies are subsidiaries of Jamaican conglomerate, GraceKennedy
“Mishaps occur in life. Bill Protect is our solution to cushion those mishaps. We are very in tune to the needs of our customers and we understand people’s want to provide for their families; in spite of life’s mishaps,” stated Sandra Forbes, Bill Express senior marketing manager.
Bill Express said in a press release that Bill Express customers’ light and water bills will be covered for two months in the event that they suffer a disability, including broken limbs, dismemberment and vision impairment.
With approximately 500,000 Jamaica Public Service Company customers and another 300,000 National Water Commission clients, utility bills represent the most commonly paid recurring expense island-wide. Forbes purports that utility payments represent some 80 per cent of monthly collections at Bill Express locations.
“We can all appreciate the importance of these amenities to families. Light and water are among our basic needs,” she said.
Bill Express was founded 12 years ago, amassing over the period a slew of partner agencies, including utility companies, which it now represents. The company has an agent network of 250 locations islandwide.
