Even the most jaded among us momentarily believed in fairy tales when Prince William marvelled at his betrothed’s beauty and declared his love to college sweetheart Catherine Middleton on April 29, 2011. An estimated 2.2 billion people, worldwide, were glued to their TV sets, poring over every fabulous detail of the Royal wedding ceremony at Westminster Abbey. First of all, there was the bride’s gorgeous ivory Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen gown.

The groom was stately and sharply dressed his beloved late mum, Princess Diana would have been proud. And who could forget the avant-garde Philip Treacy-designed hat worn by William’s cousins the Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie?
