DIGICEL approves VSP applications of two senior staff members
THE Jamaica Observer has been informed that two senior members of Digicel’s team have had their applications for the company’s Voluntary Separation Programme approved.
The two are Shelly-Ann Curran, Digicel’s senior sponsorship and activation manager and Paula Pinnock-MacLeod, the sponsorship manager.
Curran and Pinnock-MacLeod were involved with the signing of track stars Usain Bolt and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce as brand ambassadors, as well as sponsorship work with the West Indies cricket team, the Rising Stars talent show and the launch of the company’s 4G Broadband.
“We’ve had a great run at Digicel”, said Curran. “More than decade worth of working with amazing people and teams and being a part of so many euphoric moments have impacted our lives forever.” The two said they looking forward to exploring new opportunities and challenges.
The information was received through a representative of Curran and Pinnock-MacLeod.
Meanwhile, in a conversation with Jacqueline Burrell-Clarke, Digicel’s Public Relations manager, she said she was not able to say how many others had been approved as the notification process is ongoing.
The telecommunications giant re-opened the programme to allow it to “focus on driving efficiencies coupled with delivering optimum business performance, the need to realign the organisation following the integration of the Claro customer base and operations and requests from staff,” it said in a news release last month.
Digicel said it wants to have “the right people with the right skills in the right jobs” and gave employees “who may be considering a career change or lifestyle change to leave the company voluntarily while receiving additional financial support and benefits,” the release had said.
